Putting Research into Practice 2011: Is there a big difference from 2006?

I'm a CUA graduate from 2006 and a PET Graduate from 2009.

I'm considering taking the 2011 Putting Research into Practice course to upgrade my certification.  I remember reading and hearing that of all courses this is one that would be helpful to retake in the future.

Based on the course outline on the HFI website, it looks like I've covers similar topics (although I understand some of 2006 ideals might be challenged today) and some PET topics that I'm already familiar with.

I would be interested to speak with a recent PRP graduate to discuss similarities and differences between the two versions of the course so that it can help me with the decision if taking the course is indeed beneficial.  As all companies, mine has tightened their belt even more.  My boss would like me to investigate further as to if it would be worthwhile or if attending a UX conference next year is better.

Hi Marlene,

Someone from HFI will also respond to this post shortly. As you a CUA, you could also post it in CUA Central. I can message the thread to the members for you over there.

Ah.... I think that is where I ment to post to begin with.....

Hi Marlene:

Thanks for your question! Based on your particular circumstances, the content of the current PRP class might not have enough differences yet to make it more beneficial over the other option you are currently considering. Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Mary Michaels, HFI Director of Training
