Hi All,
I use visio for wireframes.
Can you suggest me a substitute for Visio in which I can show interactions too.
I have tried Axure but didnt like it much.

If you have Acrobat, you can make a PDF of the Visio images and add interactions in Acrobat. It's not super easy, but it's your best shot if you already have Acrobat. Also, PowerPoint can be used for interactions. Or, just make a simple HTML page and use Dreamweaver to make the Visios into an image map, linking up the buttons and such.

Hope that helps.
You can try looking here: http://iaapps.com/

They list out some prototyping tools categorized by your OS.

In my case Windows XP: http://iaapps.com/index.php/component/mtree/Prototyping/XP
Hi Stacia,
sounds intresting to me...how can we do this in Acrobat?
Can you send me any such example.

Thanks,
Rajat

You can also look at iRise but it is very expensive.
Thanks Gessica.I have tried IRise.....its definitely a good option.
Hey Rajat

I'm not the biggest fan of Microsoft products, but they've just released their Expression Suite 3.0 which has a new Prototyping tool called SketchFlow (or Blend+Sketchflow). I actually won a copy at a recent South African User Experience Forum event, and from what I've seen so far, it looks really nifty for rapidly creating interactive prototypes (of course, and as usual, in typical Microsoft fashion, one just needs to spend some time getting used to the fiddly interface).

Here's what they say on their site:
SketchFlow is a new feature in Expression Blend 3 that enables rapid prototyping of web sites. SketchFlow helps designers, developers, information architects and account managers sketch, wireframe and prototype user experiences and user interfaces.

Have a look at the application's video overview here:

There are many alternatives out there, but this one seems pretty good to me, albeit a tad pricey.

Hope this helps :)

Cheers
We use Visio for prototyping. Initially, it was little difficult for the team to learn and do. Now, our usability engineer loves it and uses it and (publishes to PDF) very well to share the thought process and wireframes with the product manager and end users. Its been extremely helpful and reduces lot of iterations.

I have tried another tool - iPlotz. Very easy to use tool.
Thanks alot Patrick, Ill give this a try for sure.
I like Fireworks.
I always use Fireworks and Flash for prototyping and early usability testing.
I'm a big fan of Axure, but if you want something else, I saw a demo of HotGloo recently that looked interesting.
