Are banks benefiting from poor usability?

The average overdraft charge of $35 on an average overdraft of $36 amounts to an annualised interest rate of more than 5,000%! Is this part of the banking sector's revenue business model? How much of it could be avoided with user experience improvements?Retail Banking is one of the oldest professions, probably the second oldest(!), so has understandably changed enormously. Most of these changes have been cosmetic though, with complicated services to attract different user groups.Generally, the…See More

Hey, Jimmy. Thanks for adding me. HFI had been a constant inspiration for me since 1998 (I think it was). Keep up the good work :-)

Glad to be able to connect with you, Jimmy. I completed my 10 days HFI-CUA program last week. Planning to take up the exam in June. I'm glad that I have a friend to reach out for guidance and help. I appreciate it.

Hi Jimmy!

It took me this long to notice your message, it had been crowded out by all the other HFI connect messages, which were in turn crowded out by the bulk of other email I have coming in - having seen "HFI connect" had apparently led me to assume that it is another bulk mail before reading it.

I do appreciate the invitation. Did not attend GSM Mobile World Congress though, but if you have any further thoughts on Moodle, I would be happy to hear about them. Also, it would be great to hear of any opportunities of connecting with senior UCD/UX folks - I am looking for a mentor to help me develop my practical user research thinking. Thanks!

Hi Jim - Thanks for the offer.  We are beginning to morph into HF consultants so I'm trying to educate myself.  I'm sure I'll be asking questions.  Thanks again - Tina

I've been a member since 2006 and a part of this site for some time. However, I had problems getting my credentials to log in. So, I finally had to create a new account. Boo.
