Rob, I completely agree with you on this in Nottingham they are becoming more and more prevalent as well. But the City council that allows this attrocity, also allows the building of a Hotel with entrance on an Island !!!.

Some of my colleagues in the UX community cannot do so much as walk out their front door without seeing some interesting application of technology 'in the wild' that compels them whip out their camera, post photos online, tweet and blog on the subject.
